Random musings of a romance reader
SINS OF A DUKE by Suzanne Enoch
It took me a while to warm up to the heroine Princess Josefina Katarina Embry. However, the book kept me turning the pages with the ever thickening intrigue about the Embrys' royal status, their motivations, and the cackling tension between the couple.

Sebastian Griffin, the Duke of Melbourne, is one of the most memorable heroes to grace the pages of a regency romance...so capable, inscrutable and in control, that is, until the Princess exasperates and confounds him. Let me just say that the temperature heats up in more ways than one when Sebastian loses his famous control! We get to see different facets of his political, social and personal life. I especially like the parts that portrayed his close relationship with his daughter as well as the well-intentioned meddling of the rest of the Griffin family. The dialog sparkles with humor and irony.

Despite my initial reservations about Josefina, she evolves and becomes more sympathetic as the story progresses and I give Ms. Enoch brownie points for trying something different with the heroine. In the end, I am sufficiently convinced that she is a good mate for Sebastian. All in all, a highly recommended read.
