 This book occupies a permanent place on my keeper shelf. I have reread it more times than I can count.
TCY is a lush love story featuring a refreshingly original heroine and a broodingly enigmatic hero. For Lily Lawson, outrageous behaviours like swearing, wearing raspberry breeches to riding hunts, keeping company with London’s most notorious gambling club owner, gambling at the hazard tables with gentlemen are all in a day's work.
So who better to save her sister from the cold and formidable Earl of Wolverton? But all is not as it appears. Beneath Lily's impudence and outlandish acts is a woman hiding a tormenting secret and driven to the edge of desperation. And the icy exterior of the earl conceals a heart that, when thawed, will let absolutely nothing stop him from winning Lily's heart, least of all her scandalous past. Alex's transformation from a dark remote shell to a golden knight in shining armor is extraordinarily resonant and Lily is clearly in dire need of a protector. Despite all the odds, they are the perfect match for each other. *happy sigh*
